Response Protocol

Dispatch Guidelines

All fire dispatches are made through the Fire Department's central dispatch center located at Station 4.  The dispatch center is linked to the city's 911 center.  When a 911 Dispatcher receives a call that is classified as a Fire Department Response, the dispatcher will transfer the call for the Fire Department Dispatchers to transmit.  The Fire Department dispatcher will briefly evaluate the call through a list of questions and dispatch the corresponding alarm and units.

Smoke condition:

  • 2- Engines
  • 1- Truck
  • 1- Squad or Rescue
  • 1- Battalion Chief

Structure Fire (1st Alarm- Transmitted as box #):

Structure Fire (2nd Alarm-Transmitted as 5-box # ):
