Marine Division

Marine Division

North Bricksfield is located on the eastern bank of the beautiful Hudman River. There are many waterfront business, homes, marina, docks, and buildings that need protection. The Marine Division covers the Hudman River and the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Hudman River. The Marine Division operates (5) Fire/Rescue Boats out of various parts of the city. Marine 1 operates out of Pier 1 by Station 2, Marine 3 operates out of Kingman Piers in the Hudman Bay,  Marine 4 operates out of the Christian Engeldrum Memorial Pier, and Marine 5 operates out of a dock at Park Island. The reserve vessel (Marine 6) is kept at Pier 1. Together, the four full-time boats patrol the waters 24/7, only docking in bad weather or to change shifts. Marine 1 and 2 are able to withstand icebergs, therefore they are manned year round. Marine 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are often seen on the river and in the bay conducting training or patrolling at the 4th of July fireworks and other major events. Marine 3 was added to the fleet in 1945 after Marine 2 was lost with its crew of 8 men in the frigid waters off of the coast while trying to extinguish a fire aboard a barge. The boat was hit by another barge. The Marine Division is firefighting with the dangers of sailing. It is not a career for "land-lovers".
